For awhile we wanted to go visit a cave that we had seen on a subway poster and finally got there for Woogi's borthday. Hwanseongul abd Daegeumgul are found in Samcheok, Gangwon do, about 3.5 - 4hours away from Seoul.
We had to go on a bit of a trek that was a bit step for some of the ajuma's along the way. There weren't many young people and just a couple of families but plenty of ajoshi's and ajuma's (middle aged men and woman)
The views on the way up were quite pretty too

All the following pictures are from Hwanseongul (Hwanseon cave). This cave is about 6km long with around 1.2km open to the public. It takes about an hour to walk around on the walkway and you don't get your feet wet.
It was much colder in the cave than outside but we had jackets.

Did we go to Mars?
Love to be found.
Daeguemgal has been open for just 2 years. People figure there must be a cave in a place where water was coing out of the ground. Whoever these people are drill a hole into the hill and found this amazing cave inside. You can't take photo's inside and as flashes damage the limestone I tried to take a few sneaky shots but they really don't show anything of how amazing it is. The only way into this cave is by monorail and with a guide (no English available but if you understand Korean you can listen to the guide's commentary through headsets given.
