Camping

We had planned to go to the mountains but after heavy rain over night we decided to camp where Woogi's parents have their mini farm.

Enjoying camping and the company.

The lotus look really pretty right now.

Two bugs (in Korean Peebug cos they smell bad if you touch them) intimately hanging out.

Morning dew

A wee tree frog.

How to make hokey pokey (pokki in Korean) with a ladle and a cooker.
Step one: Fill the ladle with brown suger.

Step two: Gently heat the ladle

Step three: Disolve the sugar until the laumps are gone.

Step four: Put in a pinch of baking soda and stir

Step five: Put on a lightly sugared plate and serve!

Samgyupsal, kimchi jigae, iced beer and good friends.

Eclipse

It kind of disappeared in cloud for most of it but when it snuck through it was quite exciting. My students had a different kind of lesson today.

Children's Park

Woogi and I went to Children's Park before rainy season really set in. There have been a few changes since we were there last.

Night fishing and a dinner

This weekend we went away, though not so far away to the spot above to fish with some friends. After paying about $10 you are able to use one of these seats.

At 7pm a man with a smoke machine came around to smoke out mosquitoes. Tried really hard not to breathe.

A bug before the smoke machine came round. Did it survive???

I was really happy to find this frog.

Woogi's own organic mosquito and fish repellant. We didn't catch either though we did see some big fish jump out of the dirty water they live in. We stayed in a tent and got woken up at 5am to lots of birds singing. It was very nice - the birds not the hour.

From a company that has more than enough money to check out the cultural implications of this English.

Our pastor and his wife have decided to move back to the US and we had a farewell for them in a ambassadors home. Very nice.

Kildong ecological park

Last weekend on a the hottest day of the month I went with two of my Korean class classmates to Kildong. Woogi and I had visited here before a few autumns ago. Autumn is probably a better time to go but it was still nice and quiet.
