Every year Korea University and Yangsae University have a sports festival, hosted alternatively. This year was our turn. Friends and I went to watch the rugby game. There are 5 sports they compete in. The practice for both the sports teams and the cheer leading squads is pretty full on. You can see the staduim divided in half by colour. We are red. The rugby game was a non event for most students but not because of the lack of skills (the rugby skills were not quite the same as watching the All Blacks!) but because cheering it seems was the main focus. It was quite an experience. We were even given a bun and some milk along with a cheering book on enetering! Just what you need on a hot day!

The after party held on the streets not far from where I live was fascinating for me. I don't know another place in the world where after feirce competition opposing sides come together and party. Very impressed.
And another Korea only (?) tradition. The students gather in front of restaurants and call out to the owner to bring them free drinks and food. After some time out it comes and then in unison the students tell the restaurant he's a star and drink up, munch up and move on.

It was quite a late night! Students gone and we wander home. Actually another highlight was catching up with friends I hadn't seen for awhile.
