Friday 14th was White Day.Though we are not into commercial days I'm still a girl and it is a nice feeling to be treated. It doesn't need to be White Day for that though hey! Woogi and I went on a day trip yesterday. We stopped first at a greenhouse garden.

Woogi with his 'I'm already an ajoshi' (older man) pose.

Then onto a small aquarium with Korean fish. They all looked a bit grumpy.

And then to the main event - picking big fat, juicy sweet strawberries. We put as many as we could into our stomachs and punnets.

A chicken guarding a dead sock.

Finally we ended the day by making soap. We were given a speil about the benefits of herbs before choosing a rubbery mold. Melted stuff was poured into the mold, we added 5 drops of whatever essence we fancied and 7 drops of coloring and stirred. 30 mins it had set. Not very difficult at all.

The Christmas cactus at home is in bloom. Very pretty. We are running out of places for our plants. Woogi bought an azalea and I bought a daphne (my favorite Sprng flower). Mmmm... note to self we have no more room for plants!

Winter has almost lost it's grip but it seems to be struggling it's way to spring with some icy mornings and sprinklings of snow.

This is a little fish that likes to nibble on dead skin. Dr Fish is an interesting experience where lots of these little fish nibble at whatever part of your body you let them. Not good for ticklish people and a bit debatable about how safe they are.

Korea (and Japan) seem to be very good at digging up trees and putting them somewhere else. These trees have been dug up from on campus. I don't know where they have gone.

This morning I put in the rubish 9 empty bottles of wine, 8 empty pitcher bottles and about a dozen beer cans, 3 soju , 2 baeksaeju and 2 Hooch bottles, 6 empty pizza boxes, the remains of about 2kg of fried chicken, countless chip wrappers and mandarin peel! Whew. What the heck went on? We had our house warming and here are the culprits (very fine people, every one of them)

And here are some (kinda) before and after shots of our new home. It is nice to have it sorted and do other things.

View when you come in the door. I would say front but there is no back door.

Living. Woogi would tell you the only thing of note here is the TV ^^

This was the toilet. I'm sure you know what a decent seat looks like and you don't need another picture to imagine the after shot.

My brother, Nath and his wife had a stopover from Londaon, back home to NZ. It was great to see them again. We are eating samgetang here - a whole chicken stuffed with rice, ginseng and other good things.

It snowed again this week. This is a view from my office window.

Hwachon has an ice festival each winter. We went last year also. You can see sledding in the foregrand and fishing in the back.

The crew

Lots to do and see there :-)

Looking for fish!

Wooki with his fish! Everyone but me caught one. One was eaten raw after it had been cut up and gutted - yum!

It's been a long time since I posted anything. I have been waiting for the wedding photos to come back and it's been a busy time. People often ask what is it like to be married now but it's not so different except for that Woogi is home every night. We are going to NZ for our honeymoon/meet the family/holiday on Saturday and trying to pack everything for a small move about 300 metres away while renovations take place in our present apartment. We have to move to a place which is very small so you may get a different answer to the 'what is it like being married' question in a month or so!

Wearing traditionally Korean clothing. The piggyback is traditional too - to find out how strong the man is for the first night.

Last month

It was Chuseok(Korean thanksgiving) the last week of September. Friends and I went to Dokchokdo, an island off Inchon for a few days. Then I went to spend time in Fukuoka with friends.

The crew

Beautiful sunset

Taller than average.

The boys

Canal City, Fukuoka. Halloween lanterns (a bit early!)

All I really did in Japan was eat, chat, eat, chat so not many pics-too busy chatting and eating!

Sorrell and I

Back in Anam - a dog with shoes. Very cute and very sad.

Chopsticks. Which country are they from?
