Home

What could this be......?

My front door.....

When I got home from Japan. I now have the most beautiful door in the apartment building thanks to a hard working, lovely boyfriend. Thanks Woogi. I feel happy everytime I see it.

Arm wrestling over drinks and dinner.

After seeing silk worm cocoons at the Chinese medine market I decided to give them a try (a few soju's made me brave enough)

They always looked like they would be terrible and they were.

Scratched on the wall at the restaurant.

Japan

Typhoon Wukong didn't stop my flight to Japan. In fact I got an upgrade to business class. Very nice! It was sooo good catching up with friends again. It felt like I was at home again.

With Mie and Sa-chan's Korean class.

Sa-chan and Mie. Thanks for the bed and fun times!

Mayumi and I. We only talked for 4 and a half hours this time. Not very long for us.

A-chan and some neat drinks.

My friends from hospital. Thanks for all the cookies and tea!

The sun setting at Fumigaoura. Akihiro and Mayumi took me for a drive around the coast. It was really natsukashi. Thanks guys!

Mayumi fugu and Akihiro fugu.

Akihiro, Mayumi, Yumiko and I. Thanks for a yummy meal. It was great that we could all meet up!

Sorrell and Caleb.

Thanks for having me at Chayama ryokan. It was some of the best hospitality to be found. See you again sometime.

Students!

I have taught some lovely, interesting adult students this semester. I hope that I will see them again sometime. Thank you for sharing some interesting stories with me and for coming to class. Good luck!

Bugs

There are bugs everywhere here. They are fascinating (to me anyway!) And sometimes a stray dog.

I found this gold moth in my bathroom. He? She? is quite pretty.

Three teachers are leaving us this semester though two of them are just going over to the academic side. We had a farewell for them. It was fun but a late night had but all!

A co worker had a very novel wedding ceremony. She and her husband first met at a baseball game so had the ceremony at the baseball stadium. We ate a very yummy Indian meal before going to watch a game.

Tara and Jagdesh with the mascots.

Beach!

Woogi and I went to the beach! It took a couple of hours but was well worth it. It was soooo good to see some sun! Actually my arms got a bit burnt :-( These little guys are called mangdunga in Korean. They look pretty grumpy. Maybe cos everyone wanted to catch one!

We spent quite a bit of time looking in rock pools and I enjoyed taking pics of the anemones (sp?). There were lots of hermit crabs and little fish.

We went to two beaches on the west coast. The one above was Kotji and this one Anmyeonam.

When the tide is in this bridge floats. It was a bit dodgy without the water and I fell through the slats cos I wasn't watching where I was going. A crab waving his big red claw at me attracted my attention instead!

Flooding

We had alot of rain this week (about 600mm) The Han river flooded quite a bit. I went down for a look. Everyone wants to see the sun!

I've been here for picnics. There are lots of flowers beds here too which are all under water.

On rainy days Koreans drink mokkali, a kind of rice wine. When in Rome do as the Romans do!

Woogi and I went bowling at Lotte World. We met, by chance some friends of his. There is also an ice skating rink there. We didn't have a go.

Ainsworld

Woogi and I went to Ainsworld in the weekend which has world famous landmarks in miniture. It was nice at night when everything was lit up. Can anyone guess where this Japanese castle is??? Clue: It's in Kyushu.

Honestly I was born with this lean!

Some friends came over for dinner in the weekend. It was a late night but fun!

This is Young su in a skirt! Not unusual you might think, but we are not sure if this is the first time she's worn one.

This is Young su. She taught us, well me a game where you have to spit out the watermelon seeds and then catch them on your face. She was pretty good. I was terrible and gave up!
